Ian is a 10+ year seasoned M&A Advisor and Business Broker, and over the years has completed transactions ranging from smaller Main Street deals to much larger Middle Market multi-million dollar offerings. He is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and Mergers & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI), and has been presented with the International Business Broker Association’s Outstanding Producer Award 2016 and 2017, and the Chairman’s Circle Award for 2017.
A native of the UK, Ian arrived in Vancouver in 1988 and immediately became involved in the dynamic Canadian business world. While living in Canada, he has gained over 20 years experience working in electronics distribution, and supporting small to medium business enterprises. During this time, Ian worked in all facets of a multi-million dollar company taking on roles from Operations and Product Flow Management to Sales, Marketing, and finally senior management. Through his experience, and his role as VP International Sales and Marketing, Ian worked with teams covering three continents around the world and was instrumental in the sale of a major division of this business. As a result, Ian fully understands the process and attention to detail needed to successfully complete a business sale.
Ian has always had a focus on the small to medium business entrepreneur, and learned quickly the importance of value added service and support required for business growth. From Europe to Latin America, it was evident that no matter where you are in the world or whatever your business focus and size, you can never put a price on the value of a key strategic partner. This same philosophy holds true when the time comes for the owner of the business is ready to sell. Outside of Ian’s involvement in the business community in Vancouver, he is also a keen sportsman enjoying skiing, golf, mountain biking, paddle boarding, and soccer, along with an overall deep passion for the outdoors.
Now that the sale has wrapped up and we can begin to focus on our roles in the next phase, I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with everything that you did to make it happen for us.
