Ken North is a west coast local; born in Vancouver, raised and schooled in White Rock. He grew up in an entrepreneurial household with his family operating a large turkey farm, catering business, and restaurant at the same time. Growing up and working the family businesses, he learned at an early age the value of hard work, planning, organization, and the rewards that come from dedication.
To satisfy his desire to travel and interest in experiencing the corporate world, Ken moved to the Cayman Islands to work as a Fund Accountant for an international hedge fund solutions provider, providing net asset and share valuations for offshore hedge funds and then moved to a private investment bank where he managed an investment portfolio of 25 global businesses across multiple industry sectors. Most recently, Ken has over 10 years experience working for Canadian financial institutions as Senior Manager, business development, and mid-market commercial banking garnering valuable experience and information including the realization that big 5 banking wasn’t the role for him. Ken’s passion is derived from his entrepreneurial roots and service-oriented focus wherein large corporate environments, the client’s best interest is sometimes neglected.
Ken holds a B.Comm. Accounting from Thompson Rivers University, Dpl. Tech. – Mgmt. from BCIT, and Cert. of Trust & Estate Mgmt. from London, England, and is a member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). Having direct experience working with businesses across many sizes and industries has given Ken a solid understanding of industry-specific business metrics which in turn, Ken is passionate about applying this knowledge and experience to his clients. Ken understands the challenges of being an entrepreneur and running your own business, he relates to the business owner and prides himself on being a trusted advisor to the client, finding common sense solutions to seemingly difficult issues.
Ken and his family live in beautiful Cultus Lake, and he stays active keeping up to his three teenage children and entrepreneur wife who owns a fitness and wellness consulting business. Ken’s interests include sports, fitness, and most outdoor activities. He is an avid golfer, soccer, and tennis player, who is always up for a challenge and competition.
